Why does it always seem like you can push the unhappiness away and be happy for a while. Then it hits you and it's crushing. I thought we were past this. I stopped the alcohol and cigarettes, the harming behaviours, all of them. We were happy then suddenly everything comes crashing down and i'm too weak to do this alone. I need something, maybe it has been many things, cutting, alcohol, cigarettes always something to not be me. Do you think some people just are; "depressed" and thats all they can be?

I get what you're going through, I do the same thing it's like a huge cycle. But the thing about cycles is that they can be broken. To answer your question, I don't think anybody can only be depressed, everybody can become happy. It's a choice though and it takes work, hard work.

Maybe you should talk to a therapist about how you can personally get through this! Some people need talk therapy, while others need medications. It's an individual thing, so it would be good to find the best option for you!

It's really good that you gave all of those things up, I really hope you continue to do so! I know how hard that can be to, but it's important to try not to fall back into those habits because they can often times make the depression that much worse!

If you ever want somebody to talk too, I'm always here! Feel free to send me a private message!

all i want is a place to call my own and
mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone,
you know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

I felt the same way. Looking back, I always thought that I would be that sad depressed girl for the rest of my life. I lost hope cuz like you, I kept relapsing and kept cutting. You can get through this. It will take some time, but my point being is it will take time and you just have to be patient with recovery. Find something to keep your mind off of these things and find more important things in your life that will help complete you. Just Stay Strong and Patient and everything will unwind sooner or later.
