Sea Monkeys - April 24th 2012, 10:27 PM

Has anyone else ever had sea monkeys? I had some when I was a kid. I may buy some more they were cool

I can't remember what we did when the water got dirty You can't exactly give them fresh water as they're tiny, I don't know how you'd be able to move them.

I had sea monkeys once, but I don't think they lasted very long and I'm not sure if they're meant to I don't think you can actually clean the tank they're in either.

As soon as I saw this thread I thought of Lex. Her username is Sea Monkey.

Completely off topic, but I just had to throw that in there

But I do remember sea monkeys. My best friend scared me by saying that they were ghost fish. I refused to sleep that night, terrified these ghostly fishes were going to come and eat me or something...

Chin up kid, they'd kill to see you fall.

I remember I had some and I stopped feeding them when I got bored of them and they never died
You can't really clean their water but you can move them to a bowl or something and then clean their tank.
If I remember right actually, you can buy a water purifier packet from the makers and maybe that can clean the water?

I did this too.

Anyway. I had some when I was younger, and we bought them in a kind of pack, which came with everything we needed (tank, water purifier, etc). I think the water purifier was the closest thing we ever got to cleaning the tank, since a) it never got that dirty and b) they never lived that long anyway.

They're fun pets though.

You buy a packet of eggs, place them in water and they'll hatch They were really popular here in the 90's.

I've never had sea monkeys...but my friend did.
He's kind of a psyco and tried to make them...well fly...
Needless to say they didn't last long....

I'm a Sea Monkey! (I had to say that, sorry! )

I've never had one, but they look so cool. I heard that Hawkins Bazaar have them in little 15" tanks, they look so awesome, I want one. They're a bit expensive though!

Oh, I found a sea monkey F.A.Q.

http://www.sea-monkey.com/html/custo...q_viewall.html

I think they can live for a few months but since they'll breed you'll probably have some for a while.
