Question outside dog? - November 25th 2013, 12:50 PM

ok so at.my dad's house I convinced him to get a dog and I am happy but it has to be an outside dog because he is extremely allergic as well as asthmatic.but finding a dog is really hard because we are looking for a golden retriever puppy and they are all like 2,000 dollars so we decided to go to the animal shelter to see if we could get a puppy.we found one we liked and asked to play with it but had to fill out an application first and even on the application my dad said the puppy or any dog would live outside.so they approved the application and let us play with the puppy.then they asked if we would like to adopt and we said yes, then they brought out the application and told us " Florida weather is to harsh on animals for them to live outside " even though the shelter is completely outside with no heating or air conditioning . does anyone think that they should let us adopt I mean we have an acre of land and built basically a dog mansion that can fit like three dogs and had a small shallow pool installed for the dog or puppy that we can supervise cuz it's only one ft deep

I can understand why they have that policy. My yard, for instance, I would never even consider an outdoor pet because of how bad the heat gets . However I do wish they would inspect your property to see if it would be suitable for an animal to live there after all factors are considered. Because I think that would be fair.
