Hate the puppy!!!!!!! - September 28th 2018, 04:14 AM

I HATE THIS PUPPY!!!!!!!! I have to redo my science project because she got into my room and ate half of it. I want to scream. I told my teacher that our new PUPPY ATE MY project and other people started laughing and saying oh my cat and bird and other animals ate my homework too. I said it's true!!!! I HATE this puppy!!! My cat still hates her. I don't care about this right now.
I'm so mad that I have to redo my project because of this stupid Puppy!!!! I really hate puppies right now and I'm so sorry if I sound like a horrible person. I have less time to do this now. I want to yell at the puppy, but I can't.

Do you have an SPCA? I believe they do dog training, but it may vary with the area. I know PetSmart or Petco does training.

While that process is going, get bones and things she can chew on. When you catch her chewing on something she shouldn't, just tell her no (calmly but in a way that you are telling her you are an authority) and replace it with a yummy chew stick. The key is patience.

May I ask what type of dog? It could help, since dog obedience varies within breed due to certain instincts. Also age could help.

You may be surprised to hear it won't last forever. In the meantime train. But play. Playing with her could help you like her a bit more. Its frustrating, I know. My dog loves to chew on everything but we kept bones and kings around and she loves them.

I hope you and the pup can work things out. But I would like to know the breed, so I can help a bit more.

Also, if she eats your homework again, I suggest taking a picture and maybe just pull your teacher to the side to avoid embarrassment.

Re: Hate the puppy!!!!!!! - September 29th 2018, 12:14 AM

I think this is one of those times where the old 'dog ate my homework' joke is legitimate, but because it's been made into such a jokingly poor student excuse for not doing homework that when it actually happens, no one is going to believe you regardless to the fact it is real and it did actually happen.

You don't sound like a horrible person, you spent all that time doing that project and that puppy comes along and undoes everything you spent your time and energy working n. You have every right to feel the way you do.

I know when I was in college many years ago, I had some geography homework to do, and I couldn't do it because my computer was running so slow. When I finally found out why, it turned out I had 40 cases of a virus called 'cheery chicken'. I told my tutor about the problem and all she did was smile at me and say, 'Ok.'. It was obvious she didn't believe me, but the fact it happened was true. She just didn't believe me because the name cheery chicken doesn't sound very threatening, nor believable.

I understand you likely spent a good portion of your time on the project, but I think this is also a good reason to show you what you may also have done wrong. You spent so much time and effort on it that you didn't back it up in some way, or keep it out of the way of a new, untrained animal in the house. Now you get to make your project anew, and even better than it was before, and ensure that it's secure and out of the way of a crazy project munching dog.

Life is for living, not for losing.

I'm so sorry to hear the puppy continues to be a nuisance. Have your parents considered putting her in obedience program?

Thank you for you're reply. My parents put her in dog training for a few weeks. Then we take her two times a week to the group dog training. It's helping, but she's still a puppy and crazy.

Well, I had a situation when my dog ate my new book. I know this sounds not even close to your situation, but for me, that time was a disaster. The book was very expensive and my parents couldn't afford to buy me it one more time. I was so angry and sad at the same time. After that, I started to train my dog and now this is the best dog you can even have. I love her and she loves me. I'm sure you will handle this, your dog just need additional training

Why do keep a pet that you hate? Can't you just drop him at shelter or anywhere away from you?

It's not that easy. You can't just relinquish a pet because you don't like them. Having a pet takes a lot of hard work and patience. This dog sounds like it's still very young and is in need of being house-broken. That can take a year, if not more. It sounds like Golfing Girl's parents are doing what they can to make sure the dog behaves. Another important thing to note that it can be upsetting to have to tell your teacher your dog literally ate your homework, because that's the classic old excuse of "Oh, I didn't do my homework so I'll blame it on my (probably fictional) dog!"

it really is not. If it is, then you aren't suitable for a pet.

The dog is trainable and this particular dog is full of energy. It's a puppy after all. BUT PUPPY STAGES ARE THE BEST TIME TO TRAIN THEM. And training takes a lot of time. Its frustrating and you get angry and may hate them for a while, but its worth it in the end. I have a few dogs and one that I trained. I did research and expected a lot. Even after all that, I got pretty frustrated because she just ate everything. She still does, but most just eats garbage and its easier to stop.

Research is crucial when you buy current pets.
The sad part is people don't do the research and dump their puppy for chewing a shoe.

It seems her parents have things under control.

I think you should not be so offended and angry at your puppy, because he does not understand what he did. For him, it was ordinary paper and all he wanted to do was play and make you happy, so you just put yourself in his place and think well what it is.
