Don't understand - June 28th 2020, 02:21 PM

The other day we bought new grain-free dog food and it made Sasha very sick, she wasn't eating and then was at the vet all day having tests done. When she was a baby we had her tested because she kept getting sick, and they said that she has to have grain-free food and treats. So I was upset because I didn't want anything to happen to her, I told my parents that I didn't understand that the food did that to her, she will be okay soon. I feel so bad when animals are sick or hurt because they can't tell us.

I'm sorry to hear Sasha got sick! It could be that her dietary requirements have changed as she's grown older perhaps? Or even that the change to food was a bit sudden. Hopefully the vet can give you a clearer idea and you can find a diet that is healthy for her. I hope you are ok, I know it's hard when a pet isn't well, but stay strong.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear that Sasha is sick from her food. I guess the best thing to do is to speak to the vet and see what they say. I know how upsetting it can be for a pet to become unwell but hopefully she will get better after seeing the vet.

Most of these dog foods are extruded and/or cooked at very high heat which negates most of the nutrition. Have you looked into some human grade dog food? It is a bit more expensive, but worth it.
