Whose dog? -
June 2nd 2009, 11:54 PM
Hey everyone,
My friend has a neighbouring family on her street who owns a pug (well, now two pugs with the recent addition) and they bring it over to her house a lot because they are away in the day time and her dad is retired. Her dad has gotten really attached to the dog, and the dog has become really attached to her family. He doesn't like to leave and even runs away from the owner when he comes to pick the dog up. It's strange because he basically lives at my friend's house for half the week or more, and then stays at his owner's house for the rest. Sometimes I think my friend should just keep the dog and get it over with ![]() I just wanted to know other peoples' thoughts on this. Would you get a dog if it was going to spend most of its time with someone else? Would you give up your dog if they liked another family better? ![]() The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way. Everyone has a story. What's yours? |

Honestly, I wouldn't get an animal if I wasn't going to be the one taking care of it and spending time with it. Also, it all depends if the sit. is temporary, like it won't be that way for long peirods of time or not. before I chose to give it up. That being said, personally I don't think I could give up my dog because she liked somebody better, I'm attached to her :P but if I felt it was in her best interest then yeah, it happened before when I was little.
Talk to this friend and see what they think maybe? (: when life is in discord; praise ye the Lord keep your faith alive. we're not alone <3 |

The dog belongs (physically) to whoever purchased it and has the papers. Who does the dog emotionally belong to? The other family. I would NOT have an animal if it was going to spend most of its time with someone else. I want the animal to stay with me, I want it to be my dog.
Your friend can not just keep the dog if it is not hers. I guess she'll just have to enjoy the time she spends with it. |
