Exclamation New Bird! Help! - July 19th 2009, 10:58 PM

Hey guys!!

I just got my first bird today, a budgie and I named him Pewee (after Pewee Herman, hehe!!)

I got him all set up and I bought a book that can help me learn how to take care of birds but I wanted to know from personal experiences of those who have or do own a bird of what I can do to make him happy.

Any tips or advice?
Do's and Dont's?

Thanks!!

Provide a healthy and varied diet — not just seeds, but grains, beans, vegetables (cooked and raw) formulated pellets, and some fruit. (Harmful foods include chocolate, avocado, highly processed or overly salted foods, human junk food, and caffeine.) And maybe a bit of birdy friends

I would do some searching on the internet. I want to get a new pet and since I didn't know much about the animal I did research; anyways I googled the specific animal and ended finding all kinds of good information and websites on it, you might be able to do the same thing.

Here's a website that I found that has information on the Budgie (http://www.letstalkbirds.com/budgie.htm#four) Also, since you want personal experience if you do enough digging on the web you might be able to find a forum specifically dedicated to birds or even budgies. (I found a forum for the animal I want)

Hope this helped and good luck with the new pet

There could never be amore beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguisesandhoops they make you jump through
You were made tofill a purposethat only you could do
So there could never be amore beautiful you
-Johnny Diaz

Everyday
is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today
