Hi all!!
My family and I are in a bit of a dilemma at the moment with our two year old cocker spaniel girl. We had her spayed on Tuesday this week, and all was well enough. She came around a bit heavy but health wise the operation was fine. When we brought her home she was really panicking and all so I spent the night on the sofa - whilst she was in her bed. She cried out the whole night and kept trying to scratch with the lampshade collar. Anyways...Went back the vets today for a check up and things aren't so good - she has pulled at a lot of her stitches near the bottom and it as bleedy and pussy (its because she keeps running around in circles to trying to get at them) Well the vet told us to get some baby vests and strap onto her belly - so we have done that. We have also put her in a kennel cage to try and restrict movement. Is there anything else we can do to help her out at all? Could we give her rescue remedy to calm her down?? Any ideas gratefully appreciated right now!! Thanks, Claire x I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle It's been one hell of a ride Destination still unkown It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead. I'm a runaway train on a broken track I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back Thats right. I got away with it all and I'm still alive. Let the end of the world come tumbling down. I'll be the last man standing on the ground As long as hot blood runs through my veins I'm still alive. |

Re: Bitch Spayed - Stiches Pulling -

I think the only things you can do right now is giving her lots of cuddles, attention and treats to distract her from her tummy.
I think if you were to go back to the vet and maybe ask for painkillers or something to numb the wound, something like that, she'd be a little better about it ? Good luck |
