my 11 week old kitten meows when purring, its strange and makes me feel really uncomftorble

hehe, my cat used to do that, its normal, because purring is the sound of vibrations inside a bone in the neck, its nothing to do with the voicebox, some cats cant purr because the bone is the wrong shape xx

well, its their way of talkin to us, its just like u making cat noises to a cat, they r tryin 2 make human noices, cuz cats are like crows they communicate with emotions lol its tryin 2 tell u summin lol take a shower lately? lol xxx

It really probably isn't that big of a deal; sometimes cats meow when they purr. If nothing seems wrong then I wouldn't worry about it too much. If she/he continues to do it and you notice any other type of change in behavior then you could consider calling the vet.

Both of my cats do it, I think it's cute.

It's normal, cats meow for a lot of different reasons. My cat always meows when it's happy.

My cat rarely meows ...unless I just stand there and then she looks up as if to say 'why have you stopped?' or 'come on!'

My cat is aaaalways talking. She likes to carry my socks down to the living room and meow when I'm gone and she misses me. And sometimes, like today, I looked at her and said "Meow?" and she replied. Very talky cat. She's probably just telling you she's happy. =)

My old foster kitten, JoJo, did the same thing, I think its his/her way of telling you its happy and to keep petting it.
