Pets & Their Intelligence. - January 10th 2010, 07:53 PM

I have a birdie, and he knows how to quack, make a Pigeon sound, a dog barking sound, and he says pretty bird and peek-a-boo and whistles. He even knows how to play peek-a-boo! He's so adorable!
Name some trick you've taught your pets, and some weird and cute things they do.

He can do YOGA. I'm serious he seats with his back really straight. Another one is that when you say "conejo" aka bunny he starts running really fast, I mean fast =/
Those are some of the many things he does. He also understands alot of words. I love him. His a dog by the way.

Well my hamster does acrobatics in her cage. She's always hanging from the top of the cage and shiz.

She also squeaks which is weird coz I've never heard a hamster squeak before.

My kitty will play tag when I chase her around the house. Oh and she likes to talk to birds for some reason. She doesn't even meow it's like a meow chirp thing. It's quite funny actually.

My dog actually poses for picutes. He can recognize most cameras but if he doesn't recognize something as a camera if you tell him to give you (or someone else) his profile he'll know he's supposed to pose.

He does so many weird things

Well I once had a turtle that ran really fast and it freaked me out lol. I have an english bull dog that tries to sneak up onto the couch when she thinks nobodys paying attention and I have a big lab that sits on my lap like he's a puppy.

My ferret actually wags her tail! I think she she thinks she is a dog or something. I have had ferrets all my life, and she is by far the most personable ferret I have ever had. My heart melts when I look at her, shes a sweet little thing

My dog recognizes words. I swear she can understand the majority of what we're saying. She doesn't know many tricks, but she's super smart. She likes to crawl under my bed.

My dog puts his things away =) we have a basket for his toys and if we shout "put them away" he'll put them all in
He also carried his bowl out of the corner to where he can see
He carries letters to the post box when we walk him
And he knows the average tricks: fetch, roll over, sit, down...

Hes only 5 months old aswell

My family has five cats: Tom, Sam, Elle, Abby, and Meow Meow.

Tom likes sneaking around the house like he's a secret agent. He also likes hiding somewhere when he knows someone's coming by and attacking them.

Sam is the sweetest cat ever. He is the most friendliest cat I've ever met too. He'll lay on your lap for hours.

Elle is a sweet girl that loves my horse (he loves her too)

Abby is one fast cat. She can dodge pretty well too.

Meow Meow is gorgeous and she knows it.

My dog Bogey is amazing. He is very fast (he can run up to 40 miles an hour). He knows how to lay down, sit, shake, stay, beg, and jump up. He also knows how to jump like a horse (I thought him). He is truly amazing. He's even stood up to a rattle snake before.

My late dog, Comet, knew how to nod yes and no. She also knew what we were saying. I miss her a lot. She was my first dog. R.I.P. Comet.

My dog doesn't know many tricks, but he has his quirks. Every night about ten minutes before my mom comes home from work he seems to sense that she's almost home, and jumps up on the couch to look out the window, like he's psychic. xD He also crawls under my bed. And he eats spiders

I have two dogs now, well puppiess
and they're almost 6 months and you know, they're still
at that stage where they have, well, where I;m still training them
and then teach them some tricks. Well one of it was, where I saw
this on AFV and this dog owner was teaching it where he ( the owner)
would give it treats but only he won't take or eat it because he would says it was from
the 'dogcatcher' and eats it only from the own family member ( says their names) and I thought
it was cuteeee so I was still teaching one my puppy that kind of trick (:
He'll get it someday hahahaa :]

If you say, "Get a baby" to my dog, he'll run to his toy box and pick one out. I'm also pretty sure he knows the hamster's name because whenever we mention "Junior Bacon Cheeseburger" he'll run under the table the hamster's cage is on.

I taught the other dog to lick when someone says, "Kisses", freeze when that person says, "Stop", and continue when they say, "Keep going". Yeah, I was SUPER bored one day.

Re: Pets & Their Intelligence. - January 26th 2010, 04:04 AM

My dog knows some tricks, such as if you say "go to mom's room", even if he's one floor below, usually (not always, especially if he's hyper) he'll walk to my mom's room if her door is open and hop on her bed. Another one isn't one we taught him but it's called "up-stretch", which he jumps on his hind legs, puts his paws on your chest and simply stretches, as though he was on all fours. He knows other basic tricks/commands, such as sit, off (works sometimes), heel, stay, come, go, roll over, crawl and leave it. He also naturally likes to fetch by himself, meaning you toss him a ball (which he won't ever catch when someone gives it to him), usually a deflated basketball and he'll toss it up in the air, run for it, toss it again and again. He can actually toss it pretty high, over 6ft in the air and well over 10 ft away from himself. Recently he's getting better at the command quiet or shut up, which is whenever he's barking at something, you tell him to be quiet and sometimes he'll stop barking although he'll still be focused on whatever it is.
