I'm so sorry about your cat. I lost my cat, Kilala, after I'd had her for a year also. Although, she was an older cat and she was a stray I had taken care of. Almost a year has passed since she was killed, hit by a car, and I still think about her all the time. You'll never forget your cat, but, with time you can start to heal. I, personally, would love to get another cat. I think it would help to fill that gap that Kilala left. I know I'll never forget her, but I just feel like she left a hole. I had a dog run away about 3 years ago. Shortly afterward I found my dachshund mix, Shorty. I've never forgotten my dog that ran away, but Shorty did help to fill that hole. He makes me so happy and gives me so much love. I think that when you're ready, you should get another cat. But, that is your choice, and you shouldn't do it until you're ready.
