I gotta bunny and he needs his nails clipped, they are getting really long, but I'm really scared of hurting him and I don't really know how to do it. Advice please?

look on youtube, and on google. you should jsut be cutting the edge off. but both those sities will give you a good idea of how to hold and bunny and jsut how much to clip off.

I think from a pet shop you can buy proper pet nail clippers, rather than using scissors cos it could be a bit dangerous. Either get someone else to hold the bunny or hold them tight yourself so they dont wriggle around. Hold the foot tightly, and try and move all the fur away from the nail so you can see it clearly, and just clip some off. Don't go too close to the ur.. let's say toe! It shouldn't be painful, probably a little scary for the bunny, just make sure you're gentle.
And like Michelle said, you could try and find some youtube videos so you can see how it's done, but it's pretty straight forward. Good luck! |

Google is good for everything. I'm sure there is something that will tell you the proper and safe way to cut it's nails. good luck!

It can be a bit scary, but with the proper pet nail clippers, you should be fine. If he's wriggly, as some bunnies are, gently wrapping him in a towel, so it's dark, and he stays calmer can make it easier. http://www.rabbit.org/index.html Have good rabbit care info, they've got a section on clipping nails.
