Frustrated - May 7th 2010, 02:09 AM

So a little bit back I posted a thread about cat names because I was getting a new kitten. Well I have him and I wanted to name him Oreo but my mom wanted to name him Spaz so we did and it fits him perfectly. He spazes out if he dosnt get his way lol.

Anyways.. Im trying to train him to use the litter box and its quite frustrating. At first I just had a box lid with some kitty liter in it and he was doing great and using it. Then I bought an actual small litter box and now he wont use it at all. He keeps going to the bathroom on the floor. I put him in the litter box all the time and he just wont use it. I'll even put him in there and then 5 min later he'll be using the bathroom on the floor. My mom said if he dosnt stop he has to go outside and I dont want that.

So do you guys have any tips or ideas on what to do?

Maybe the litter box is too big for him? He's probably just unsure about the change and doesn't know where to go, and the floor is easiest for him. Try switching back to the box lid for a little, then alternate with the litter box every other day until he gets used to using it.

agreed, it is hard to train animals, but try the lid and gradually move to the litterbox, change too quickly can be hard
