Miley (my puppy) had an operation today. She had to have an operation for her hernia and she got spayed (ovariohysterectomy.. sp?)
She looks okay right now just drugged and sleepy  How long until she feels better? What should I do to make her feel better?

If I remember right it is a couple of days to test and the best thing to do is just make her feel comfortable.

 Let your puppy sleep on your lap. Puppies love being held.

It'll take a few days, at the most.
If you see her biting or pulling on her stitches with her teeth, give her a light tap her on the nose and tell her "no", because if she pulls out the stitches, you'll have her right back at the doctor getting them put back in. just wait a couple of days for her to heal as much as needed. you could ask her vet about it.
i believe it isnt much of a fuss. think she can behave as usual when she wakes up. normal foods,water,and sleeping on your lap as said above. so make sure shes doing great. show love.hope this helps. <3 Not that I'm crazy or anything, I just want some proof that death isn't the end. Not that I'm desperate, but I want to know I'll meet you someday.  I need to feel free while I'm flying, safe while landing, and loved when I'm on the ground. [Don't wake me up out of this dream] |
