New Horse!

I bought my first horse! I am so excited. I've been riding for years but it's always been my dream to have my own horse. She's kind of overweight but it shouldn't take too long to get her in shape. I haven't decided on a name yet(she has the same name as my dog so I'm going to change it)... I was thinking about maybe Moka, Sapphire or Fox. Any suggestions?

Thanks! Actually I live in a small city. I'm boarding her at a stable about 10-15 minutes away.

I'm mostly a pleasure rider but I am looking into getting into jumping.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I decided to name her Sapphire for many reasons. One is that it's my birthstone, another is that sapphires can actually be yellow.

I finished buying all of my tack today. I have a bridle with matching reins and a matching breastcollar for the saddle. It's a dark brown with white stitching and little white diamond shapes. It's going to look so good on her!

What's it like owning a horse btw? I'm just curious as to what it's like? I mean, you mentioned your board her in some stables, but does that mean you pay for her to be cleaned out / fed etc. or is that something you travel to do yourself every day?

Also beautiful horse though =). Post some more pictures ^^

Sorry it took so long! I finally just got around to uploading my pictures.

Notice the pretty halter

The first picture I posted was just the one from the ad for her, but this one is with my stuff. I also have a bridle that matches the saddle, but it's not on her in this picture.

It really depends on what stable you board at. The stable we're at feeds the horses and cleans out the paddock which is more expensive but nicer. It also includes the use of their arenas, a barn for tacking up and grooming, a roundpen and trails. I have to exercise and groom her, which is the most fun anyway. I have been out there everyday since I got her, although I haven't ridden her as much because I am working on building up trust and respect... she decided she didn't want to be caught one day and we spent 7 hours chasing her around so now she is in a small paddock by herself and we are working on fixing that problem.
