What kind of dog food do you use? - September 21st 2010, 02:24 AM

I looking for something cheap and healthy.

Right now we use Iams for the Peek-a-poo and Chef Michael's for the Boston.

I used to use the Iams but the vet told us it was not good don't know why =/
Now we use Pro Plan.

I feed Taste of the Wild High Prairie. It's a good food and not that expensive, either. There are plenty of websites out there that can help educate you on how to read the ingredients in a dog food bag and why certain foods, such as many brand-name (Iams, Eukanuba, Beneful, etc.) are not high quality foods. Here are some websites that helped me --
http://www.saveourshepherds.org/kibb...ecommendations (this one, the recommendations are helpful for a quick glance, but the actual page is interesting if you have time to read it)

Hey

Basically you want foods that are low in added fats and stuff, but high in natural ingredients.

Pro Plan, Science Plan, James Wellbeloved or Wainrights are my favourites.

Wainrights are probably the cheapest, then James Wellbeloved (I use this), then the science/pro plan diets.

If you go in store to a Pets at home store there are usually dog nutricionists in store - or even your vet should be able to advise a good quality but reasonably priced food.

I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle
It's been one hell of a ride
Destination still unkown
It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head
You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead.

I'm a runaway train on a broken track
I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back
Thats right.
I got away with it all and I'm still alive.
Let the end of the world come tumbling down.
I'll be the last man standing on the ground
As long as hot blood runs through my veins
I'm still alive.

We use an organic dog food, because the other ones add in a lot of crap that dogs don't need.

There is always hope. PM me anytime.
