Summer's Home~! Introduction Thread. [img heavy] -

 This was around five to ten minutes after the initial meeting. I received a phone call reminding us about her timid nature and that it might be a day or so before she decided to approach us; we were told that if she did approach us but rolled over and showed her belly to leave her be until she stood up again, and then we could pet her. I'd never have admitted it then, but I was a little worried about that warning. :/ I'm a patient person, but my excitement was equivelant to a child at Christmas! It was hard to bear the thought of having to wait to embrace my little lady. When we got there, however, my worries were eliminated. The woman who'd driven her from her previous destination to her last destination opened the door, and along with another foster, Summer came to the door to see what was up. As soon as she saw me, she came forward, gave me a kiss on the chin and sat against my legs. <3 I knew immediately that I'd fallen in love with her.    'Grandma' giving her a welcome home kiss.  Summer giving 'Mommy' a kiss.  I've been told we make a cute pairing.        She's a Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross. So I got half the dog I was originally intending to have.  But she's a hundred times more than what I could ever have wanted and expected.  |

She is SO gorgeous! I love king charles' so much! She so just so beautiful, I can't believe how jealous I am. I want a puppy!

Awe...she is so cute and sweet! You two look so happy
She has the most gentle looking face...I love dogs...all dogs, any kind...and the love that they bring into our lives is absolutely amazing. I love how they each have their own little personality. You and Summer are going to have alot of fun times together...thanks for sharing the pics! |

I completely agree Cantina. I believe that all animals have spirits and that those spirits are completely capable of an unconditional love that humans can only dream of achieving (I believe our ego gets in the way), but it is the most amazing sensation, forming a bond so deep with something that's not even of the same species. I've built this bond with my cat, and hope to with Summer, as well. She definitely has the sweetest spirit; she's already following me around like a shadow.

Thank you everyone.
I'm so proud of her. Been bringing her everywhere with me simply to show her off, haha. Granted she also needs the socialisation. I have a feeling she was undersocialised as a puppy, so it's something we need to work on now. <3
