Hurt doggy :( - September 27th 2010, 10:20 PM

My dog, who is a rottweiler and is a year and a half jumped off some furniture, and she is limping really bad. It's like she doesn't want to walk on her front,l left paw. so she just hobbles along. It happened the other night by the way. I tried rubbing in and she cried and pulled her paw back. What could this be? Is there anything i can do?

Would taking her to the vet be my best bet?
I don't have very much money so i am quite worried the bill will be ridiculous.

Suggestions?

If she hasn't gotten any better after a few days, and there's no visible signs of anything on her paw, I suggest that you do see a vet. They are the only ones who can determine what the problem is.

Before that though, try and look at her paw, see if there's anything in there that's digging in (that can sometime be the case). And see where abouts that it hurts, the paw or the leg. Just to try and see the cause of the problem. But I do think the best place to go is the vet.

I hope she gets better <3

I would take her to the vet. because she probably fracture her bone what the vet will probably do is take a x-ray and see what's wrong and than probably put a little cast on her paw I don't know how expensive that may be but it's best that you take her because she is probably hurting alot. The vet. can work with you if you tell him you don't have money right now with a monthly payment plan.
Keep us updated to what happened to her if you decided to take her good luck.

I would guess it's either a fracture or a sprain, depending on how high the furniture (that she jumped off of) was from the floor and depending on how she landed. Either way, it would be good to take her to the vet, and to be honest, if it's a fracture, you don't want to wait so long it starts healing improperly; that could mean surgery for the dog, and that will be expensive. Not to mention that the dog seems to be in severe pain, and it'd probably do her best to relieve it.
