Hey Angelina,

I totally understand your frustration with having to clean up pee off the carpet from a puppy. My puppy is a little over four months nows and I think, fingers crossed, that we've actually managed to get him house trained now. I was pretty lucky with him because he was always taught to go on newspaper so when I use to put newspaper down he would always go on there because that was all he really knew.

However, I've read that you should try taking your puppy outside every half and hour or so because they don't have the strongest of bladders and when they do actually go outside then you should give them loads of praise and even give them treats for going in the right place. You could even try putting down newspaper or one of those puppy training pads next to the door and try to encourage him to go to there to let you know that he needs to pee.

I hope that I've managed to help in some way but if not then I'm sure there is loads of stuff on the internet on how to house train a puppy and everything. Good luck on trying to get him house trained and just remember, I understand that it can be really frustrating having to clean up pee a lot of the time but this time will pass, it won't last forever!

Take care.

With our puppy, we paper trained it. Basically, showed her the paper and praised her for going poddy on it. Then we'd move it closer to the door, and then eventually outside. It's not bad. I would make sure to be timing your feedings with the puppy. Only give him measured amounts of food at certain times. Give him about a half an hour, and put him outside. When he goes to the bathroom, praise him. Tell him good poddy. And keep doing that until he's older. He'll probably catch on quick.

Take him out frequently and what we managed to do is, since we have a large back-yard, he'll go in one area to pee then go in the other to poop and they're not in the center at all so he can run, bark, roll, whatever and not step in it. Also, helps for picking it up since we're not hunting it down. Initially, we did have to do poop hunting and it wasn't that fun when you stepped in it.
Whenever he does his business, praise him, pet him and play with him immediately afterward. Using treats can work but I try to use them as little as possible just so it's easier for them to not be dependent on smelling, seeing or knowing they'll get a treat. It also gets to be troublesome when you have to keep giving treats, you start feeding him rather than inticing him or if it's small amounts, when I go to the dog park, I get a pack of dogs thinking it's treat time.

We also bought these gates to put inside the house designed for babies/toddlers and they go at doorways to the dog cannot enter certain rooms. If he does, he's told to get out immediately so he never does his stuff in those rooms at all (only enters if he's told to enter and the gate is down). This can be great to use especially if you're not watching him at the moment so he doesn't go somewhere and have and pee or poop, or both in that room.

Also, with the gates, if he has to go, he'll tap at the gate and bark, then we know he has to go outside right away. We had our other dog just go to the back door and do that but eventually he began leaving scratch marks in the door, so we used these relatively cheap plastic gates.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

Hmmmm;
Bradley was originally trained to go on this thing called a Puppy Pad. Which is kinda just like the same thing as newspaper or liter box. And we still use it; but only when he's in his cage.
We figured out that Bradley needs to go to the bathroom like directly after he finishes eating. So every time he is done eating; we'll take him outside for a bit. We also take him outside once we take him out immediately after we take him out of his cage. Or if he's out around the house and hasn't been outside for a while, we'll take him out. And every time he does go to the bathroom outside he gets praised. :]
Have fun training
