Crazy Cat and Litter - May 2nd 2011, 06:52 AM

My cats litter boxes are in the basement. She has two because she would urinate in the box and poop on the floor. We thought two would do the trick; urinate in one, poop in the other. But no, she urinates in both and still poops on the floor. We have tried special litter and everything. Has anyone elses Cat been this crazy?

When my family took in a stray cat she'd poop by the front door because she wanted to go outside. Could it be that?

Actually my cat did this too except she would poop in the litter box and pee on the floor when we got the second litter box she would pee in one and poop in the other but if you didn't clean it like everyday she would go on the floor. Maybe this could be the case, that it isn't being cleaned to your cats liking? I just know thats how my crazy cat was.

maybe you could take it to a training centre to get it house trained, but it is most likely it wants to go to the toilet outside... could you let it in the garden?

Your cat might suffer from some mild anxiety/stress. Emotional problems can cause an animal to behave in ways that, to us, seem odd or as you put, crazy.
I would consult your veteranarian to check for a behavior problem, etc.
Good Luck!

Meeting you was the biggest pleasure I ever did recieve.

Maybe she is confused as to what outside is and what inside is, lol.

My cat actually now refuses to use the litter box at all. We have to put a pee pad out for her beside the litter box. She started doing this when we got a new cat. So I'm thinking she doesn't like the new cat or something. Have you gotten any new animals?

Since she has been around (which was since she was a kitten ) She has been the only pet. It isnt usually a big deal because the floor in the basement is concrete and unfinished. But my parents want to get it finished so THEN it will be a problem... I might try getting her a pad to use it on...

Ach. My cat used to do that. I think a good thing to do is frequently put the cat in the box, whether it has to go or not.
