A cat is pretty easy to take care of and can exercise itself if it wants. They're usually pretty independant, but they can also be affectionate and sometimes a little needy. Not to mention, they're cute and sweet.

I'm with Emily on this one. A cat is active enough to keep you entertained and amused, but calm enough that you'll probably never have to go chasing after it. They're both long-lived and intelligent.

Cats are nice. Some other options would probably be reptiles, small mammals (guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.), fish, or birds.

A bearded dragon, leopard gecko or some other kind of relatively-easy-to-look-after lizard. I'd go for the bearded dragon since it's not nocturnal and a lot more active and, well, they're less lazy.
A tortoise would be good, but just be aware, they need a LOT of work and can live up to 80 years. If you're more of a fan of mammals, maybe a sugar glider, hedgehog, guinea pig or rat? ![]() "My one desire is for peace -- peace for everyone" |

Hey, Bex. I hate to point this out, but I'm not sure you're really in the right place for a pet right now. Aren't you taking care of your little brother all by yourself? You'll have to buy food and supplies and make sure to take care of it on top of all the work you're already trying to do. And with the situation with your parents, bringing a pet into your home might actually be harmful to the pet, as well.
But if you're really still wanting a pet, I've always been a big fan of fish. They don't take a lot of work but you can get some really beautiful ones. ![]() let me light up the sky, light it up for you let me tell you why, i would die for you When you whisper, you must be absolutely as sincere as when you scream. 9 out of every 10 problems in relationships can be solved by talking. So why are we so damn quiet? |
