Smile Don't Be Afraid! (: - May 28th 2011, 08:44 PM

I own a Siberian Husky and a Boxer mix and most of the time when someone comes over to my house they are afraid of my dogs because 1. They think my Husky is a wolf and 2. They mistaken my boxer mix as a pitbull
They are actually sweethearts! Though if you touch my husky (Roxy) near her butt on her back, she kind of jumps up but doesn't snap. But I will warn you don't ever go in out backyard unless we are there. One time our AC Guy came and we already warned him but he went back there anyway without one of us and she let him in but then when we left to leave, she got him I wasn't there but we warned him! lol.
And our boxer mix (Persiffany) is just a gigantic weirdo. They are really sweet but are protective

Ech...the simple fact remains though, there are a LOT of dangerous dogs that can take a chunk of you. Think of how many people a year are killed by dogs...

'nuff said.

Jenny, heh he was ok ;D
Janos, haha ya, and it also explains why people are afraid of dogs because we are like the only white people on the block so people automatically assume its a vicious dog

Wait, so race determines how good of an animal keeper you are? A fallacy of logic if I ever saw one

You can't really tell how vicious a dog will be by the breed, sure a lot of pitbulls are nasty to strangers because they were raised that way but they can be raised to be REALLY sweet dogs.

Small, cute, dogs can bite too. All the people I've known to get bitten/attacked by a dog were just petting someone's dog because "oh, she's sweet, she doesn't bite" and then it did. I had a friend and her little sister got bit badly in the face by her own dog (the girl was around 3 1/2) because she touched him near his face. I'd say most dogs are fine if you don't go sticking your face near them

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"
