Is your pet Spayed/Neutered? -
July 15th 2011, 11:27 PM
Only answer if it's common practice to spay or neuter your pet
I don't think many snakes or birds are fixed lawlI ask simply because in the city is was always common practice to spay and neuter your pet, along with training and feeding it right. There are so many health benefits to spaying and neutering, along with less stress for yourself. But I moved out to the country/suburbs, and there are a considerable amount of dogs and cats not spayed or neutered or anything, I work at a kennel/grooming place. Other than the hassle it is for us to keep these dogs away from other unfixed dogs, to me I see a huge difference between their personalities, happiness, health, ext. This isn't meant to be an "zomg fix your pet" I'm just curious to see what other people think or have done, and why or why not. ![]() Take me seriously. I dare you. |

I have two dogs and a cat and they've all been spayed and neutered
I have a male and female dog so if we hadn't they'd be doing naughties and we'd have a weird mix of a shih-tzu/poodle/Yorkshire terrier on our hands

My kitty is spayed
My bunny isn't though. The animal shelter I work at includes spaying/neutering in its adoption fee. The previous bunny I had was but I got this one from a pet store and we haven't had the money to spay it. Plus there are no male bunnies around.

I have 5 ferrets whom were already neutered. If I knew what do now, though, I would rather them remain intact.
As for cats, my mom had all 5 cats neutered/spayed when I was younger. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have a dog and two cats, and they're all spayed. I adopted my rabbit from a relative, and I'm not entirely sure whether it's intact or not. However, she's our only rabbit, and we were supervise her closely whenever we take her outside, so it's not a huge concern.

Re: Is your pet Spayed/Neutered? -

Our first two cats are both "fixed," one male and one female. We have a dog that isn't fixed and we'd feel too bad doing it now because he's getting older and it doesn't cause any problems and he isn't around other dogs. We have a male cat that we rescued and haven't been able to get neutered yet, but let me tell you, I will never have another cat that isn't fixed. This cat pees on literally everything. He peed on me while I was sleeping last night. My sister has a female cat as well, she's been working on getting her spayed but the vet is putting her through unnecessary stuff and she gets REALLY needy and meows a lot when she's "in heat"
"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.' I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish. 'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.' 'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said. 'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'" |

Yes. We got my dog from a rescue centre and they spay and neuter all dogs they get when they get there needles and health check. So my dog was already fixed when we got her.

My dog was spayed when we adopted her, and so was my sister's dog was neutered when he was. Even if they weren't spayed when they were adopted, we probably would have gone and gotten them fixed anyway, even though they're both indoor dogs living on different floors (two family house), so there's not much of a chance of anything happening.

My dog was just spayed. We had to in order to stop him from running away. He took really well. He also seemed to stop barking at nothing at night (Still barks just not as much only when people come) and calmed down a lot.

I have 4 dogs. 3 are outside dogs, 2 males and 1 female. Both of the males neutered, but the female is not. And our one inside dog is a male and he isn't. The only reason why he isn't is because my sister wants a puppy, so we're probably going to breed, and yeah. (:

Yes, my dog is neutered, simple because we didn't want him humping anyone or any other dog. He's a Coton De Tulear (Rare french breed).

I only have a hamster.
![]() And she isn't neutered. If it's even possible. Certainly not necessary as Syrian hamsters live alone.

My doggy was spayed when she was still alive. We're going to get a cat soon, so we'll probably fix the kitten too.
My guinea pig isn't spayed. I don't even know if the can be. xD [right][font="Century Gothic"][size="2"][color="Pink"]

Both my cats are because, well, they're cats and you can't control where they go so...

Yes, both my cats are, as is my dog.
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

My two cats are spayed- they do them really young now (12 weeks) so they were already spayed when we adopted them.
