A way out? - July 13th 2012, 11:03 PM

After 3.5 years of cutting and a recent suicide attemempt I have decided I am done with this life I've been living. I am not saying suicide is my only option. But it is the painless way (dont go on to tell me how suicide hurts physically, because physical pain no longer has an effect on me. Its the emitional pain that is killing me) it's the easiest way, and it is looking like the best way. But I am not writing on here to say goodbye, I am writing to ask about my other options that I have. I know I need help, I know that I am probably suffering from severe depression or have bi polar disorder or something along those lines (depression runs in my family) and after the long almost four years that I have been suffering I relize I cannot do this by myself anymore. And while the support that I have been offered on TH has truley been incredible, I know I need perfessional help. So long story short I want to know how i can get help. I CAN'T under any circumstances tell my parents (so dont tell me it isnt as bad as it seems) because its just not somthing I am willing to do to myself. School doesnt start up for another month and a half so school isnt a place I can go either. And keeping in mind I am only 13 I cant nessesarly drive myself or pay for anything. If anyone has and ideas please let me know

Hey there,

First, I think exploring your other options is a good idea, and I really don't think you should even think about suicide as an option. Just remember, things will get better, and that you were put on this earth for a purpose. You just have to go out there and find it and eventually things will get better.

So you don't want to tell your parents and i'm not going to lecture you on how it's a good idea and not that bad. (see how I tied that in there? I'm so sneaky heh heh just putting in a little humor Anyway back to it) I do recommend telling someone. It doesn't have to be your parents. Is there a friend, teacher or a counselor that you could tell? You are 100% right about needing professional help, while the support on this site is amazing, sometimes we need professional help, and there's nothing wrong with that, so talk to someone, like a professional.

If school doesn't sound great, like you said, friends, clinics (you could call them since you can't drive yourself due to age) or a hotline might work. I know it's summer and you already said you didn't want to do it in school, there is always email, you could email a counselor or teacher you like about it. Just think about it. I'm just giving you options here.

You are incredibly strong for asking for help, and I hope that you get the professional help that you're seeking, just keep your chin up and stay strong We're all here for you no matter what! You are important and you have a purpose. Things will get better. If you ever need anyone to talk to, feel free to message me! Good luck and take care!
