I was so self concious of my scars for the longest time, but then one day I was like... Who cares. Not me. You have to learn to be comfortable in your own skin.

First of all, welcome to TeenHelp!

In answer to your questions, yes, I've felt the same way. I generally hate it when people know my problems except the few people I've come to trust. Also, as far as wearing short-sleeve shirts, you could always use make up to cover up the scars (as long as there are no fresh cuts). Wearing a bikini might be a bit harder if you're planning on swimming since the make up would probably wash off. In that case, you might just want to wear a shirt over the top or use a towel to cover up until you are actually ready to swim. Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I can say I am in the same position of you. I have scars from my shoulders to my wrists its horrible not being able to do the things you want to do because of them. But let me to you this; your scars do not define you. You're still beautiful and if you want to wear a bikini, go for it. Yes at first you're going to feel incredibly self concious but it will get easier because the more you do it, the more you'll get used to it and the more you will feel confident. Taking that first step is hard but you can do it. Dont let the scars ruin the rest of your life.
