I am almost free. - July 15th 2012, 09:36 PM

Today I am one month free from self harm. I've gone a lot longer without it, but I am still really proud of myself. I still have those nights where I need to have my blades around, under my pillow, next to me, anywhere because they make me feel safe but I am slowly trying to get out of that. It feels horrible looking at my scars fade, because I need them there. I feel like if I don't cut that something bad will happen. I'm still struggling but I'm almost there. I can become self harm free just like everyone else struggling out there can become.

Congratulations on being one month free from self harm, you're doing so well! Maybe you should treat yourself like in the 'Bracelet Challenge'

I know how hard it is watching the scars fade so I'm just gonna suggest writing something over them like 'Stay Strong' or a butterfly so you look at that rather than the scars.

Congrats again

Congrats on being one month free!! That is awesome, and I totally think that you should throw yourself a big party. Just saying.

Also, you CAN do this. I know how hard it is, but you can. It's possible, and you are doing it every single day that you are free.

You deserve happiness and to be freed from this vicious cycle.

Hang in there and stay strong. We are here for you.

Congratulations on going one month self harm free! That's a huge accomplishment. It's perfectly okay to struggle every once in a while and it's awesome that you aren't giving up. Stay strong because you'll be completely self harm free one day.

That is amazing you have made it to one month. You should be proud. I know this is hard to get past the urges sometimes but you CAN do it. I just made it to 2 months so it is possible.
I agree with Anna about the scars. Also someday you will be glad not to have scars, you might be worried about showing them in public, but maybe not. I hope all goes well for you. Stay strong. You can PM me if you ever need.

From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How all my worst fears are letting out

When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die
