I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead.

I'll just keep holding on to what i believe and oh I believe in you. Give me the strength for the fight and the heart to believe cause I've got to believe in you. I feel so alive.

Re: Self harm music - July 26th 2012, 03:51 AM

I've honestly never had a song trigger me into self-harming. Some songs might make me feel a bit depressed or angry for a while (which is why I won't allow myself to listen to sad/bitter songs for too long), but I've never been triggered by any specific song or artist.

Songs that helped me through self-harm/anger/loneliness/whatever:
Breathe No More - Evanescence
Understanding - Evanescence
All That I'm Living For (Acoustic) - Evanescence
Lithium - Evanescence
Field of Innocence - Evanescence
Lies - Evanescence
The Last Song I'm Wasting On You - Evanescence
(sic) - Slipknot
Psychosocial - Slipknot
Prosthetics - Slipknot
Wait and Bleed - Slipknot
Faget - KoRn
Trash - KoRn
Clown - KoRn
Make Me Bad - KoRn
Falling Away From Me - KoRn
Inside The Fire - Disturbed
Darkness - Disturbed
Overburdened - Disturbed
Down With The Sickness - Disturbed
Born This Way - Lady Gaga
Fashion of His Love - Lady Gaga
Dance In The Dark - Lady Gaga
Monster - Lady Gaga
Hair - Lady Gaga
All I Need - Awolnation
Analog Trash - Ayria
Lasse Pour Quoi - Azam Ali
Red Stars - The Birthday Massacre
Looking Glass - The Birthday Massacre
Possibly Maybe - Bjork
The World I Know - Collective Soul
Euphoria - Collide
Tempted - Collide
A Red, Red Rose - Eric Barnum
The Bleeding - Five Finger Death Punch
Meet The Monster - Five Finger Death Punch
The Devil's Own - Five Finger Death Punch
Cosmic Love - Florence + The Machine
Blinding - Florence + The Machine
Blood Pigs - Otep
Fillthee - Otep
Communion - Otep
Eat The Children - Otep
Perfectly Flawed - Otep
Nein - Otep
Suicide Trees - Otep
Possession - Otep
Jonestown Tea - Otep
Levan Polka - Hatsune Miku
Glitter Pills - HEALTH
Run A Mile - Late Night Alumni
Finally Found - Late Night Alumni
Saria's Song - Koji Kondo (Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
Serenade of Water - Koji Kondo (Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
Nayru's Song - Koji Kongo (Zelda: Ocarina of Time, ZREO)
Lights - Mindless Self Indulgence
Straight To Video - Mindless Self Indulgence
Why Am I Always Right? - Nightmare of You
Nemo - Nightwish
Everything - Tapping the Vein
Again - Tapping the Vein
Beautiful - Tapping the Vein
Another Day Down - Tapping the Vein
Bleed - Tapping the Vein
Numb - Tapping the Vein
The Cross - Within Temptation
Forgiven - Within Temptation
Go Away - 2NE1

Sorry for the huge list, but these songs really did help me release the sadness, anger, fear, and confusion that I was under for practically six years of my life. These songs definitely could be really triggering to other people, so please be careful when listening to some of these (not all are bad though). I just could never listen to too many angry or sad songs for a long period of time (like more than a couple of hours), cause then I'd suddenly find myself in a rage or a state of depression. However, they really did help me through the tough times and search myself a bit deeper. There are many other songs that I could add to the list, but I can't remember them all right now. Cx

One of the most triggering to me is Hurt. It's my main one.
But another is one that my ex wrote, so like no one but me would know it. Sorry

A beautiful thing is never perfect.

I don't have anything to add right now, but I wanted to say thank you for posting all these songs! Half of them I know, but there's a lot I don't. So far the only song I have found triggering is Last Resort by Papa Roach so I just have to be careful when I listen to it.

I haven't really had many songs that trigger me.
But I do have a favorite that reminds me of it.

Bad Habit - The Dresden Dolls

"Sometimes I feel nothing at all. Sometimes I feel everything is my fault.
Sometimes I feel the hate break my mind. Sometimes I feel they deserve it this time.
May the bridges I burn light my way." - I, Alone - Otep
