Prescriptions? - August 3rd 2012, 12:57 AM

Hi guys.

This might sound weird, but do you know if you can get prescriptions from your doctor for bandages? I know I've had some for steri-strips before. And Im seeing my doctor in the morning (I have a good relationship with him) and I think I might ask if he can prescribe more steri-strips and see if he can prescribe bandages too. But I don't want to sound stupid infront of him but I literally dont have any money and cant afford to buy any and I need some.

Thanks.
Jessie

The doctor probably has some in his cabinet right there in the clinic/office, why not just ask him for some? My mom sometimes bums extra supplies for her first aid kit when she visits her doctor...he gives her several bags of bandages, gauze, cotton swabs, sterile wipes, etc.

Hey Jessie,

I don't know if you can get prescriptions for bandages but I don't think it would hurt to ask. If you were to explain the fact that you cannot afford to buy bandages on your own the doctor might give you some of his own supply. I know that most doctors have an excess of bandages around and I am sure they would want nothing more than to help a patient out. And I don't think you will come off as silly in front of your doctor; in fact I am sure he will prefer you asking than going without bandages in the future.

I hope this helped.
