Question scars going white? - August 2nd 2013, 09:56 AM

Hey.
So I have a lot of scars on my left arm and their age differs. The most recent ones are about a month to two months old. I went to the beach and when I came back, Tyre smaller ones have become white and the bigger and deeper ones are white at the edges.
Is this a good thing? Does it mean they're going away? I use bio oil too. Can someone predict how long it's gonna take for them to disappear since this has happened quickly? I dunno if this is normal pace or no either. I'm feeling good, family know. Just now my parents are on the brink of a divorce but i'm fine. So, of anyone could answer my questions that'd be great! Thanks!

Hey,

Yes. When the scars turn white, it means that they are healed and fading. The sun/salt water at the beach probably helped a little along with your bio-oil treatment. I can't tell you how long it'll take for all of them to turn white. Typically, the deeper the scar, the more time it takes. Just keep up with the treatment and see what happens. White scars are a good thing!

Take care.

White scars are definitely good. Like mentioned before, there isn't really a specific pace for your scars to go because they're all different. I've had mine take as little as eight weeks or as much as a few months. I hope your scars keep fading!

They have probably been going white for a little bit and you're just noticing now. Probably tanned or burned and can just see the difference a little easier.

It's a good sign I have a scar on my hand (not from self-harm, I just cut myself deep a few years ago by accident) and it's nearly invisible, just slightly white.

Hey Christabel. You said you have a lot of white scars. How long have you had them for and are they gonna go away with time and if so, how long? x

Well, mine have been there for a year. So I'm not sure if they're gonna go away. I've never been able to get any Bio oil or anything so I couldn't help them fade.
