I'm Scared - October 1st 2013, 05:19 AM

hey guys. So I've been clean for 12 days (I know it's not long..but whatever) I finally got the courage to tell my mom and friend, and they've been pretty supportive. But the problem is, everything just sucks right now. Every night my urges have been coming back, and honestly, I don't think I can fight them anymore. Everything is getting too difficult, and every night they're just getting worse. How can I cope with my urges other than harming myself? Thanks guys.

Hiya!

Congrats on twelve days, that's awesome You might want to check out this thread; it could be helpful. Do you know what's been triggering you? Writing it down, by journaling or blogging can be helpful. Walking or running is something that's great to do, since you can't think about much when doing so. Since your mom and friend know, would you consider asking them for help with this? Talking it out is beneficial. You can do other things such as making a calm down jar or doing the butterfly project. Feel free to message me if you need anything

Hello there, I'm glad that you've been able to quit, 12 days is great. I know what you mean when you say that urges suck. You can do this, you've already proven that. Personally, I found the ice cube worked best, but there are plenty here, so don't get discouraged if some don't work for you.

Congrats on how far you have come! It may not seem like long enough to you but every day is a big accomplishment. I would suggest looking through the link above. Even if only one of the ideas works, then it is worth giving it a chance. Good luck
