Help - December 2nd 2013, 06:11 PM

I'm having very strong urges again. I am about to give up my two years free. I just am sick of not having this coping mechanism. I know its bad but I just want to start again. I dont have anyone to talk to about it either. I also dont want to go back to a therapist. I dont care anymore. Is someone willing to talk to me about this?

Try song meditation.
You pick an uplifting song that you like and sit down criss cross .
Do this in a quiet place in the house or outside where it is peacefull.

Listen to the song and clear your mind of everything but the song and do this until the urges pass.
This should help you clear your mind a bit.

Re: Help - December 3rd 2013, 02:19 AM

when I was cutting it was difficult to stop but I found a new way to let out all my emotions and that was through music. I listen to rock bands and metal bands and I found the heavy songs let me get my anger out and it made me feel better and I would listen to happier songs if I was in that very deep and dark place. I know this might sound stupid but music saved me I just find music can express my emotions really well I hope somehow this might help you.

Hey there,
I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling this way and its really awesome that you're reaching out for help. First of all, I strongly recommend that you take a look at this list which has some great alternatives to self-harm. Also, great job of remaining SH free for 2 years!! That is really awesome and I'm proud of you. I am here if you want to talk about this; you are certainly more than welcome to PM/VM me anytime to talk.

~Rishy

Hey Faith,

Two years without SH is a MASSIVE achievement, so for that - well done, KEEP IT UP!

Rishy has posted a very useful link, an alternatives to SH link, I highly suggest you check that out, it could help you get through this.

You're more than welcome to VM/PM me if you want to talk about this, plenty of us at TH would be more than happy to talk to you about this, we won't let you deal with this alone.

You CAN do this, be safe and stay strong.
~Jack.

PM/VM Me if you need any sort of help, I welcome ANYONE who wants to talk.

Thank you to all of you who answered. I ended up taking a shower and that helped. So I didn't relapse. I will look at the list thank you!
