Hit a new low. - March 9th 2014, 07:45 AM

So tonight I slipped and tried to cut again. But my knife isn't the sharpest, and now I'm so fat that my skin just folded in and it didn't do much even putting a lot of pressure of it. It's just like some shallow scratches on my skin. Wow, this makes me feel SO much better about myself. Now aside from feeling completely hollow, now I want to disappear.

Hey there,

I'm sorry to hear that you just want to disappear, you don't deserve to go through this. I'm glad you didn't cause a lot of damage to yourself.

Have you taken a look at the alternative's thread? That thread has a lot to offer that may help you. There's a lot of alternatives, and a few are bound to work for you and your needs. I'd recommend keeping a journal to write down how you're feeling so you can identify and work through your triggers.

I know that this seems hard right now, but I promise you that you can do this!

Hey there,

It can be really disappointing when you try to harm yourself and it doesn't do the damage you intended. I know you are feeling low about yourself but in the end all of that will only contribute to making your urges feel worse. The best advice I can give you is to try and remind yourself that self harm does not solve anything.

Do you know what made you want to harm yourself? What were the triggers? If you can work on figuring out what your triggers are you can work on trying to find the proper resolutions to solving this. Something else that might help is looking at the Alternatives to Self Harm. The alternatives are a great way to go about distracting yourself from the urges that you get.

You mentioned feeling low about yourself and I suggest that you try making a list of things you like about yourself. I know this might be hard to do but the more positive you start to think about yourself the better you can start to feel about yourself. When you replace the negative thoughts with more positive thoughts it can do a lot of good.
