Bad? - March 15th 2014, 10:58 PM

So basically...I'm a hundred times better than I used to be. I'm not as depressed all the time and I'm not as suicidal due to my medicine and being distracted. But I still want to cut. And I still feel guilty all the time for being such a bad person. And the truth is I don't know if I want to get better anymore. I want to keep cutting. I want to die. But I also don't at the same time. Help?

Hey there,

I am SO glad that you are doing better than you were before! I think that you have made a lot of good progress here.

I'm assuming if you are on medicine, you are seeing someone like a doctor? If so, I think you should tell them what you're experiencing. They can help you get through it and to a better place where the feelings of guilt and the urges to harm aren't as bad anymore.

I know you said you don't know if you want to get better, but I can tell that there is a part of you that still is hanging on and still is trying, and you should definitely hold on to that part of you and don't lose sight of it. Deep down I can tell you do want to get through this.

Continue to find distractions you can use when it comes to self harm, because that will help you break the cycle a bit. I know you've seen the alternatives thread here and I urge you to keep using it.

You are NOT a bad person. List all of the good qualities you have, because I KNOW you have them. THOSE are what matter.
