Smile Why you should tell someone - January 29th 2015, 06:50 PM

I know that you're tired of hearing it, that you should tell someone and ask for help. You've heard it a million times before, and you ignore it. I know, I've been there. It took me 5 years to finally open up to someone, and that's only because people were just about to find out anyway so I wanted them to hear it from me, rather than seeing my cuts.
Honestly think about it. Right now in your head, think about telling someone. The worst case scenario, is that people think you're doing it for attention, your parents don't understand or people find out and call you names. Yes, it sucks. But I can guarantee that SOMEONE will care. Even if it's just one person. If your parents don't understand, even if its just one friend, one teacher at school... Is this not so much better than being completely on your own? If you find one single person that's willing to listen to you and help in any way that they can, then all those people that don't care wont seem to matter.
And that is the worst case scenario. Fortunately for me, when I opened up everyone that found out has been beyond supportive... For now anyway. And that will probably happen to you too, you honestly feel so much less alone and like a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders, you're not carrying this burden alone anymore. But if you're not lucky, if you find that people don't understand or care, at least you'll not spend what may be years wondering, at least it's out there, the worst part is over.

I really hope that I've made maybe even one person bring up the courage to tell someone. Because I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, it is hard, things will be rough for a while, but they will get better. If for now, you really cant tell someone, you can talk to me, or ask for advice on how to open up.

I know at the moment, you don't want to hear or believe it, but I care. Good luck
