Not sure where this belongs? - April 3rd 2015, 11:09 PM

So I have a tattoo consult tomorrow and I'm nervous as hell but also excited. The tattoo will read warrior over my scars. I love the word but it also means a lot because demi s who inspired me to get help and she inspires me daily! I've never really talked to someone about my self harm journey and my why demi is so inspirational to me. I'm worried about judgment and the artist seeing my scars even though I know she's seen them on people before I need some comforting advice

Maybe you can think of the scars as other tattoos you've gotten in the past? If not, maybe you can say "I'm okay, and I have nothing to worry about. Everything will be fine." to yourself over and over while you are there, even if you don't believe it c: Good luck!

The tattoo artist that you're going to see is a professional, so she shouldn't be negative toward your scars. Like you said, she's probably seen people's scars on several occasions so I doubt she will respond negatively when she sees yours. I like the idea above about repeating soothing things to yourself when you're there. Even if you don't believe them initially, enforcing them over and over again could prove to be helpful.

Let us know how it goes!
