Very tempted - January 21st 2017, 10:12 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

So this week has been hard for me. My crush has forgotten that I exist and doesn't even notice me, I'm really ugly and I don't know how to deal with it. I really want to just cut and feel better, but at the same time I don't.
And now I'm scared. My mum took my phone away from me last year because of my cutting, and my brother saw me with headphones in. It shouldn't be a big deal, but if he tells my mum I'll be in so much trouble. I'm scared.

If you feel as though you are ugly perhaps you can distract yourself so you aren't thinking about it. Instead of thinking about your crush or your appearance, think about something else. Perhaps you can pursue one of your favorite hobbies or look into a new one to keep occupied.

I am sorry to hear your mom took away your phone because of your self-harm. A lot of times, parents have difficulty when their child self-harms. Maybe you can consider talking to her and telling her what she could do to help you?

I agree with what Cassie has said above. However, I have a couple more things you could try. I've started colouring to distract my mind and to keep my hands busy.

Maybe you could ask your mom if the two of you can go to counseling together. That way she might get more advice on why people self harm and how she can help.
