about to break - February 3rd 2017, 10:04 PM

I've been clean for almost 3 years.
I am going through a really hard time at the moment.
I almost gave in earlier.
I still want to give in.
I have nobody who knows about this.
I don't have access to my counselor for another 3 weeks.
I'm stressed.
I'm overwhelmed.
I'm depressed.

All I want is to carve into my skin.

Hey,

I am so sorry you are going through a tough time right now. You say you don't have access to see your therapist for three weeks, but is there a way you could call or email them?

I also know how it is to want to give into Self-Harm, I was four years clean once and then a lot of shit happened and I started again, now I can't go more than 3 months without it. My suggestion is to remember how good it feels not to have new cuts you have to hide, or more scars. I would also suggest that you take a look at THIS thread.

I really hope some of this helped.

Hi Cass,

I'm sorry to hear you're going through a rough time right now. Would you be comfortable talking about what is making you feel low? Maybe it would help to get everything out of your system so it isn't stuck in your head anymore. If you don't want to post it publicly or just want someone to talk to you are more than welcome to PM me. If you aren't able to talk to anyone around you, blogging or keeping a journal could help.

You said you won't be able to see your counselor for a few weeks and someone above me mentioned calling or emailing them. Are you able to do that? Maybe you can move your appointment up or get put on the cancellation list so you can see your counselor sooner. In the meantime, you could try writing your counselor a letter. It could help you get your feelings out and you can even use it in therapy later if you'd like to. If you could see your counselor right now, what would you say to them?

The alternatives listed above could benefit you. Maybe in the meantime you can try to take things a day, or an hour at a time if you need to. Do you have any favorite activity? You could watch a movie, bake, or take a walk, to name a few ideas.
