Nerve Damage? - March 1st 2017, 09:44 PM

So I cut both my wrist. Both of my wrist and hands get pins and needle feelings once in awhile, or they will just feel weird and awkward. They aren't deep for stitches but they aren't like cat scratches either. I was wondering by going that shallow could it have caused nerve damage? And if it can, can it go untreated?

I am not completely sure, but I would think that possible nerve damage would depend on the placement of the parts of your body. For instance, some people have thinner skin or veins that are more toward the surface than other people do. Getting treated is up to you, but I think you would benefit from getting it checked out. Nerve damage could worsen if not treated early enough.

I think they are fine, they just hurt a lot, if they start hurting more and getting red, I will go to the doctor. I do have other sores that might be infected so I'm just going to see how they are over the weekend then I'll see if I have to go to the doctors.

Re: Nerve Damage? - March 3rd 2017, 08:29 PM

Hey

I used to get this a lot in my hands and wrists but eventually it want but it all depends on different people. I was told today I have nerve and muscle damage in my legs and it is causing things like I have to manually move myself out of bed or if I cross my legs I have to lift them with my hands and sometimes when I walk, the muscles give in and I fall and I also get severe pins and needles until I am crying with pain and this is from self harming.

So as much as I doubt it is anything, I would always advise you to get it checked out if it is causing you problems or you are worried. Don't let it be something that plays on your mind. Its best to get it sorted

And remember we're always here for you if you ever need anything.

Hope and wishes,
Jessie
