Re: How to get rid of old scars - April 18th 2018, 12:57 AM

Hello,

In all honesty I have never found anything that works for scars but a lot of time. I have scars that have faded quite a bit. Doctors have said they won't ever fade completely but the only thing that ever got them to fade a bit was that I stopped self harming in that specific area.

I know that some things that are supposed to help are cocoa butter lotion, maderma, coconut oil, aloe vera, apple cider vinegar, there are these silicone gel sheeting or just silicone gel scar treatment.

Some of these I have tried and others I have wanted. I think things like cocoa butter, aloe vera, coconut oil and apple cider vinegar are the cheaper options. Maderma and the silicone gel sheeting/scar treatment can run pretty high in cost. That's one of the reasons I did not use them. Apple cider vinegar has been used for acne scars but I do know a few people who've tried it for self harm.

Hope that this helps.
