I don't even know why... - June 20th 2019, 05:40 AM

Recently I fell back into the routine of self harm, mainly cutting. Sometimes I literally beat myself up or when something irritates me, I chew the inside of my mouth... If that makes sense...

I hide most of the cuts with make up.

I'm not totally sure why I do it... There's probably a lot of factors right now. Can't exactly afford a therapist and I just graduated and going on to college. There's consolers there but its pretty difficult to get an appointment.
At this point, hair the on the wrist isn't working. So there's that. I want to talk to someone but I'm afraid if the reaction. Like they'd call someone and force me into a hospital....

Hey there,

I’ve fallen into a self harming routine too, and you know everyone has slip ups. However for the talking to someone part, you are welcome to message me anytime and I’ll reply. I understand the fear or paranoia of it all. Do you have a friend or someone that you wholeheartedly trust that you can talk to?

I hope you are okay

Hello,

I am so sorry that you are having a hard time with this right now and hope that you will be okay soon. You said that you are going to be going off to College and they have counselors that you would be able to talk to when you are having a hard time with this and you can sit down with them and talk to them about this and anything else that is going on. Also you can look into the school that you are going to and they may have this, it can be called different things but the school my sister goes to they have a group of students who are like counselors and it's the pure listener group and they talk to students who are having a hard time, so you can see if you're school has this or other students that you can talk to, and help you with this when you're having the feeling to hurt yourself. Or would you be able to talk to you're teacher's or ask the school counselors if they can help you to find someone to talk with.

When you are getting the feeling to do this, would you be able to get you're mind off of this for a while until the feeling has passed. For example going for a walk or putting on music or grabbing a book to read or putting on a funny movie or TV show for a while to help pick you up or finding something that you enjoy doing for a while. I hope that you will be okay soon. Sending you Hugs.

Hey there,

If you tell someone it's unlikely that they'd force you into the hospital. In most instances self harm doesn't lead to a hospitalization. You can also phrase things in a way that makes it seem like you haven't cut in a while. Say something like "In the past I have cut myself and I would like help with it".

I know opening up about self harm can be difficult but I think it can be quite beneficial to have someone you can talk to and receive support from.
