Camp No more Cutting - July 26th 2009, 06:35 AM

Each summer I go up to the camp that I gave my life to God at. I was up there last week and each night after devotions with my counselor, we would go outside and talk. By the way I was his Junior Counselor and lived with him for the week. Anyway I told him about the cuts on my arm and I kind of blew him away. I guess I kind of deserved it. So I promised him that I would get rid of the blade that did this to me. I came back to my house today and I had what most people would call a "mountain top experience" when you are on fire for God and now I am back for the weekend and the blade is sitting behind me and I promised him but it is so strong to pull. I want to toss it but I need to leave one more mark. OMFG what the heck I just realized that it is addicting.
Now I need help please sorry to confuse you guys.

Heya Bill.

First off that camp sounds really fun, I would love to go to one of them, but they don't exist in Ireland
Its great that you told someone about your self harm, it gives you someone to run to when you need it and someone to talk to about your feelings in person, because sometimes I find anyway, that talking to someone face to face has more of an effect than through any other means.

Self harm is such an addictive thing, its scary sometimes. Its can pull you in without you even realising it. You didn't mention how long you have been self harming, but by the way you are talking I am guessing its not very long.
I would strongly advise you to throw out the blade and I know that is so much easier said than done but if you are infact at the start of self harm, then I would say get out while you can. Have you tried some of the alternatives that are listed on here? They really really helped me stop SHing, give them a go and there are loads of them, so you can find the one that works for you.

Best of luck Bill,

If you want to talk more PM me anytime

Cutting is definitely an addiction...

You need to pull though, and just try and throw it away. Your very strong for being able to tell someone about this. Once you have done it you might feel that much better about yourself!
I hope you have a blast at camp! I used to love going away to camp!

PM me if you need ANYTHING
