your ex isnt worth you hurting yourself over.
if he is following you and its turning into a stalker situation
then i suggest you tell somebody so it can stop.
im sorry you cut but you need to focus on positive things
now, and let the your ex drift completly away.

good luck hun!

Hey Erika,

First of all, you are not stupid at all. Nobody is stupid for cutting themselves because its a coping mechanism. If your ex is doing this and making you feel this way you should do something about it. Maybe it would be a good idea if you told somebody about what he is doing because it isn't right and it isn't fair on you. How about letting somebody know like your parents or another relative? Also, if you ever feel that you want to cut again try and look at this [alternatives thread].

Take care,
Jen

Hey there Erika,

You shouldn't feel stupid. People cut to cope and coping isn't a stupid thing to do...you just chose an unsafe method of coping, that's all. It's okay though, because there are plenty of other methods of coping around to help you in the future whenever you're feeling upset or stressed out. You could start by checking out the alternatives sticky that Jen has already directed you to.

I'm sorry to hear that your ex is stressing you out though, that must be hard. It seems like he can make you quite triggered. I think that talking to him once more and asking him to stop whatever he's doing or working out a solution to whatever issues you are both facing would be the best idea.
Dealing with the issues that make you want to cut is an extremely important thing to do. If you don't feel stable enough to face these things right now then try to talk to someone about them, such as a friend or a parent - it can be a great help to have some extra advice and support.

No one is worth hurting yourself over, Erika.

Take care.
