Talkiing about it ? :{ - January 19th 2009, 12:45 PM

Theres like 2 or 3 very, very good friends (well i dont know them irl, they're from another country but im quite fluent in english so its not a problem for me)

Anyway, those 3 know about my.. cutting.. but they get upset when I tell them I slipped and cut.. I mean I haaaaate lieing, and they're my best friends so I tell them but I dont want to upset them :'{ because then they're sad in turn making me even more sad too

Should I just not talk about it to anyone, just like, keep it for me.. :'{
Aren't they better off not knowing / without my problems :"{

what should I do..

(PS. I cut again like.. an hour or something ago.. :{ )

Hey,
I think these friends would prefer to know that you are cutting so they could support you. Lieing to them isn't going to help you and is only going to make you feel worse. It might upset them but I think it would upset them more to know you had lied. They will only be upset because they care about you. Hopefully then your friends can support you. You could say something to them about not wanting to upset them, but you prefer to be open and honest. I hope things work out for you. Stay strong:-)

I'll try my best to talk to them.

Also, another thing (dont wanna make new topic):

Sometimes I start thinking like ''naaaa im not a self-harmer, im just acting foolish, its only in my mind...'' but then.. I look at both my arms.. and see all the scars :{ and then I really start doubting myself and get sad again.. could say reality strikes back i guess..
I keep having that over and over..

Does anyone else get that or is it just me ? :$

And thanks for your reply and support, i appreciate it alot <3<3 x

Not sure about that specifically, but i get feelings like that about a lot of stupid things i've done,
but just remember that you're not the only person who self harms so it's not like you're a minority, and it's not something that hasn't been dealt with before, so i'm sure you can do it,
i suggest you keep opening up to your friends,
the only reason their said is that they care about you, that should make you feel good about yourself,
you're such a cool person that even though they've never actually met you they still hold you in such high regard,

just remember that sadness is only as bad as you let it be,
watch some comedian or hang out with some funny friends or around someone you care about and you'll completely forget about it

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
