I want to... - January 19th 2009, 01:09 PM

So I haven't cut in about five months and I feel like doing it again. What should I do?

Think of all the reasons why you shouldn't.
Think of the reason why you stopped five months ago and what a shame it will be to ruin all that effort.
Keep yourself distracted and look at the threads stickied in this forum.

PM me if you want to talk.
Stay Strong (:

5 months is great and I don't think you want to throw that away and have to start again. What has helped you get through the last 5 months without self harm? Perhaps that could help you now. You can get through this and you don't have to self harm. Think about how much worse you will feel if you do self harm. I went 10 months without self harm and then gave in. I regret it a lot because it is so much harder to stop now. Don't give up, you can do this :-)

Think about how long it's been since you've stopped cutting. Think about how difficult it was, and how, if you cut agin, you're going to have to re-do all that hard, hard work.
Write instead of cutting. Read. Watch TV. Listen to nice music, go out with friends, draw on yourself with a red marker. Make a piece of paper for every single day you haven't cut--and try to paperclip them together. I bet they won't fit. That's how long you've been without hurting yourself, that huge stack of paper. If you cut, you'll be down to one sheet of paper and back to square one. Not cutting is really up to you, that's what it all comes down to--you really can control it if you try.

Love, Calla.
