Hey Logan,

Firstly, I just wanted to say that I am glad you posted this because it sounds like you could really do with some extra help right now Do you know what triggered you to cut? It does help to identify the triggers because then when you have an urge in the future you might be able to manage it better.

Self harm really does become addictive so I really think you should talk to someone you trust about it like a friend, family member or doctor. The longer you leave it the worse things could get, and you might get addicted to self harm and then feel unable to stop.

If you need anything at all then I am happy to listen

Hey there Logan,

I am also glad that you have posted asking for some help and advice. It's such a brave thing to do and you should be proud of yourself for being able to ask for help. Have you ever talked to anyone face to face/offline about your self harm or the feelings you have associated with it? I think that talking to someone may not be a bad idea.

I think that it would be a wise thing to try and figure out (if you don't already) and triggers or feelings that make you want to hurt yourself. Writing a journal/diary is a good way to try and explore this. Once you have found anything that does trigger these feelings off then perhaps you can try and work things out in a safer manner. Working out and dealing with your feelings is as important (if not more important) than tackling just the coping method.

You may want to check out the Alternatives sticky for some distractions which is [here] - these can be good distractions if you're ever feeling the urge. Self harm is just a coping method and these alternatives are coping methods too, just much safer ones. You shouldn't have to hurt yourself to try and make yourself feel better, Logan.
You may also want to check out the First Aid Sticky which is [here] - it is important to take care of your wounds.

Take care.
