It's gotten so bad... I've gone to the point where my entire arm is numb and I have trouble moving it... I don't know what to do...

It is very hard trying to beat self harm so dont be dishearted keep trying. Maby it is worth telling someone be it friend, family, doctor getting surport and help in the real world and not just on internet can be really helpful.
PM me anytime.

Ryan,

You know very well that recovering from self-harm is not at all an easy task. I am so sorry that you seem to be struggling right now. The best thing you can do is just try; as long as you're trying, that's all that matters. Remember to use your alternatives; I cannot stress enough how much these can really help...when you're using an alternative, you're not self-harming.

On another note, I think it may be best if you speak to your doctor about the sensations (or lack there of) that you are having in your arm. You may have caused damage that needs medical attention.

Take care, and stay strong. I know you can do this.

in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"

Ryan,

Dealing with self-harm is definitely hard. Same with the recovery of it. Like Jessi had said use the alternatives, they do help! I try using them every once in a while. Maybe try blogging things? Or writing a journal?

Have you ever considered seeing a therapist, or someone that can help you?

Don't forget you are never alone!
PM me if you need anything

The important thing to remember is that you're likely going to relapse - it's probably going to take you years and years to get to the point to where you know you will never self-injure again. You cannot let this allow you to become discouraged, because it's basically inevitable. Please, be positive about this. You CAN climb back out of this rut. You are a worthwhile person and you deserve to live well; you must keep searching for an alternative that will work for you - try holding ice in your hands, drawing with red pen or marker on your arms, exercising, writing poetry or stories, reading, distracting yourself, using a rubber band on your wrist, etc.
I'm absolutely certain that your family DOES care - they love you very much and are concerned with your well-being. Try to open up to some people and allow some of your walls to come down because I guarantee you, you'll end up finding a lot of people who care.
You can always message me on teen help or e-mail me if you need to talk. I'm always here to support you in your endeavors. Best of luck!

The only one who can care is yourself. Make or break is your own opinion. Your will is only to be strong as those value you hold close.

It helps to have those close to you in support, but even when there is no one in your life, there is you.

You are the tallest tree in the forest that is your life. You can see down the long winding road. Whatever experiences you have along the way cherish what you have. Your body is your temple. Your body is your connection to this world. Without it you cannot see your loved ones. Even if you have no friends or loved ones. You still have yourself.

Hold strong. You will find strength within your own body. You can do anything you put your will towards. I am a firm believer in this absolute fact.

I will pray for your well being, the rest is up to you.
