Afraid of Judgement. - August 26th 2009, 11:18 PM

So a while back, I posted my memoir in the Self-Expression forums, saying I was completely done with cutting.
But I slipped up about a month and a half ago.
I haven't done it since.
I hope I don't do it again.
I don't think I will.

I want that story out there.
Others have read it.
But I'm scared of admitting that I failed, that I slipped up.
I don't want to be judged for throwing away those 199 days.
Yet I don't want to lie about it.
That would just, in my eyes, taint the entire story.

I know I'm being slightly ridiculous,
but how can I get over these feelings?

when you love and laugh abundantly you live a beautiful life.

Hey Becca,
First of all, great job going for so long without cutting! You should be proud of yourself. That's a real accomplishment. Just remember Becca, we don't judge you here at TH. Getting things off your chest such as a slip up always makes you feel better. I'm happy you decided to tell everyone even though you were scared. We aren't going to judge you at all. We are here for you. Just remember, you can do it again! We know you can! Just have faith in yourself. We are here for you during those hard times when you slip up and we will help you through them. You aren't being ridiculous at all. To get over the feelings just remember we are here to help you, not judge you. Slip ups happen, but you can keep going and move past this.
Let me know how you are doing,
Alessa

Whatever it is, chances are I've been there.
If I can make it out, you can too.

Hey Becca!

You need to start by thinking positive! You went 199 days... That is truly inspirational to some people and you should be proud of yourself. You didn't 'fail', you just slipped up. It isn't a bad thing that you slipped up, it means that you can now identify what triggered you to self harm in the first place and avoid that in future.

That self expression post should still stay there. You only slipped up once, and I think you should still count on from 199 days. It is about breaking a cycle, a habbit and you are doing that.

Check out this link if you feel the need to self harm in the future.
