Hi Elliott,

a month and fifteen days is amaaaazing! I'm so proud of you for making it that long!

Sometimes, I phrase things like "I know I'm going to slip up," too, but I think it can be helpful to not let ourselves use phrases like that - keep reminding ourselves, instead, that self-harming isn't an option. Getting rid of things you might use to hurt yourself with and putting things like pictures of people who care about you or other reminders to be good to yourself in their place might also help.

Sometimes, just doing something to keep your hands busy can help, too. Like texting a friend, or typing (like here!! ), or hand-writing a letter, or squeezing a stressball instead. Have you talked to anyone like a counselor or your doctor about how you've been feeling? They might be able to help you figure out ways to pull yourself out of depression, too.

Hang in there, Elliott. And take good care of yourself.

Hey Elliott,

I am really glad that you posted this because it sounds like you could really do with some extra support right now. Firstly, I just wanted to say how fantastic 15 days is! That is a fabulous achievement, which you can build on. You don't have to self harm Elliott there are other much healthier ways to deal with your feelings. Have you checked out the alternatives thread? If not then I strongly suggest you take a look at this, because it is a great thread with so many suggestions of things to do instead of self harm.

You have made it 15 days already and I don't think you just want to throw all that away. Perhaps you should try writing a list of all the reasons why you don't want to self harm. Then when you feel the urge to self harm you can remind yourself of all these reasons and try some of the alternatives to self harm to help you get through the urges.

Is there anyone you could talk to about your self harm? Or have you got any professional help? It might be something to consider if you are struggling. You don't have to struggle alone people will want to help you.

No matter what happens everyone here will be here to support you through this. If you ever need anything at all then I am always happy to listen You can get through this so don't give up!
