I havent cut for like 6 months. and before that it had been 3 years. but senior year started and so did the cutting. everything i ever knew is coming to an end. I'm going to lose all my friends once i graduate. I can't tell any of them about it. Lately i have been using the needle thats on one of the mathematical compasses that you use to draw a perfect circle. it doesnt draw blood but it works. and i keep thinking about using a razor so that it will draw blood......i dont know what kind of advice i want. but i dont know if i want to stop

I have like almost the same problem as you. But with senior year think about it- you have to move on sometime and all of your friends that mean a lot to you will not loose touch with you. And I can guarantee you you have friends that are worth it and won't leave you.
Some of my friends have noticed that I started again, but they are really there for me. They know they might not be able to fix everything but friends are always there for you when you need to talk. and you can talk to me too. I like listening.
My best friend told me I should start doing more to take up my time, and it's so true. I'm starting a kickboxing class at the end of the month and I'm applying for a job right now. If you don't have a job I would suggest getting one....it might not sound like a lot of fun but it will keep your mind busy and by the time you get home and do all of your homework you'll be all tired out and just ready to sleep. Speaking from experience, it is SO much easier to resist SH-ing if you're tired and had an exciting day.

Also, you made it 6 months, and 3 years before that? WOW. That is amazing, like....just really awesome! I know I don't know you but if you can make it that long, you can stop. Just take it one day at a time. Sometimes when I want to SH but I know it is the worst idea ever, I write on myself. It helps. It may not feel the same, but you can write whatever you want you can draw pictures you can just scribble (with a marker) and you know it will come off later and you don't have to hide it or be ashamed in front of anyone.

I really hope I helped, and you can PM me or message me and whatnot any time. (i'm also new to this site so i'm not 100% on how everything works, but i'm here)

You know what? You did amazingly to go those amounts of time without self harm! I think that you should be really proud of that; I know I would be. It is okay to not know whether you want to stop or not because self harm can be very addictive and difficult to stop. The good thing is that you are even thinking about stopping at all because that is the first stop to being self harm free.

You said you started cutting because you feel as though everything is coming to an end and you will lose all your friends. When you graduate though you can still keep in touch with people on the phone/online and meet them outside of whatever you chose to do next. You won't just lose contact all of a sudden the minute school ends. Another thing to consider is that you will probably make new friends as well, go to new places and do new things. All of this is so exciting and part of life no matter what age you are. Maybe when you feel like you want to self harm you could try and phone one of your friends for a chat [you don't have to talk about feelings or self harm if you don't want to] to reassure yourself that they are stil there for you. You might also want to check out our alternatives thread which has lots of different things to do when you want to self harm depending on what mood you are in. It even has a section for alternatives if you want to see blood; If you want to look at that then click here

Take care,
