Hi Barb,

I know at times, life my seem really rough, but if you have a few relapses it doesn't mean that you suck at life. Do you talk to anyone about you and self-harming? If not, it might help. If so, does it help?

Maybe next time, instead of hurting yourself, you could use one of the alternatives that are listed here.

A lot of those alternatives have helped me get to where I am on my road to recovery. Keep your head up. You can get through this.

PM me if you need anything

You don't fail at life!! Not by a long shot!!
The only thing that means is that you're HUMAN. And congrats on that fact!
This isn't something that is going to be easy to deal with. It's gonna be hard and you're gonna mess up and you're gonna have ups and downs... But you can do it. You can make it through.
Like Brittany said, look at the alternatives thread. Find something that works for you.
PM me if you need anything.

You're not a failure.
Everyone has slip ups. The best you can do is to pick yourself up and try again.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hey there,

I want you to know that you are not a failure at life. I know that the relapses that occur can make us feel as if we are failures but that is not true. Cutting really is a hard thing to overcome and relapses happen; the important thing to do is pick yourself up and try again. You can beat this.

The alternatives are a great place to start when you want to fight an urge (http://forums.teenhelp.org/f12-self-...ves-self-harm/). I know at times it might seem like they are not working but give your body time to accept them.

Another place you can look when you want to fight an urge is a hotline (http://forums.teenhelp.org/f3-general/t22-hotlines/). The hotline gives you someone to help talk you through an urge and that is always helpful.

Now, if you have people offline who you can talk to that would be wonderful. I know it is hard to talk to the people we care about but in the end it is worth it. Talking is great medicine because you get all the bottled up feelings out.

Please hang in there and if you ever want to chat feel free to pm me.

Hey Barb!
You're not a failure!
Please don't think that! At least you want to stop it, or you wouldn't post, and that's a HUGE start! It will take time! Please don't fret too much!
I know it can be hard to quit as that is the only thing you seem to find to release your pain!
I'm always here if you want to talk!!!!
Take care! Hugs
